Warrant Officer Darren Chant 40, Sergeant Matthew Telford 37, Guardsman James Major 18, of the 1st Battalion The Grenadier Guards, Acting Corporal Steven Boote 22 and Corporal Nicholas Webster-Smith, both of the Royal Military Police, were all killed as a result of gunshot wounds sustained in an attack at a police checkpoint in the Nad e-Ali district of Helmand province, Afghanistan on Tuesday 3 November 2009. Serjeant Phillip Scott, from 3rd Battalion The Rifles killed on Thursday 5 November 2009, was also amongst those repatriated.  (Getty Images)
